Andrew: Settle Down Easy/El Tio’s
For the inaugural post we decided to go with a brewery I’ve been frequenting but to which Tim has never been. Right on 29, I’ve been following them on Instagram since I got back from overseas. This place is the real america. People around us spent an hour or so comparing notes on how to use your weight to get a covid vaccine.
Tim and I had a few beers each and grabbed tacos; they have a nice set up where you can order food from a Mexican place nearby inside the brewery. The tacos there are solid. Tortillas are very good. Overall just nice that you can grab some cheap Mexican when you’re trying all the beers. It’s a really nice set up because sometime you just want like one taco, or you want to split some nachos.
I’ve tried a ton of the beers here and it’s a mixed bag—sort of par for the course for breweries local to us. The scoville imperial sting (their spicy beer) is too sweet. The German dark bach was solid and is my go-to here. We ate outside which isnt exactly great for ambience. It’s some small picnic tables in the parking lot in a strip mall. But when it’s this nice out it’s fine. The interior is fairly typical small brewery which is a compliment in my book. And the bartender was very nice.
All in all this place is solid but overly familiar given what I hope will be a strange descent into hole-in-the-wall spots nearby.
